MARCHING SPARTANS

About Us

The CWRU Marching Spartans is a spirited ensemble of musicians from all areas of campus, from engineers to English majors. The band also includes The Spartan Silks, a flag/dance team that includes young women representing a variety of majors.

The Marching Spartans perform at all home football games and other pep rallies during the fall. The group rehearses once a week, Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6:30 PM, and before home games that are played on Saturday afternoons or evenings. Even though rehearsal time is limited the band has been successful in producing lively, entertaining musical-marching performances while serving as a catalyst for school spirit. The emphasis is on having fun within the context of a traditional marching band format.

Qualified persons with experience are encouraged to audition as a Majorette or Featured Twirler.

Also, participation in marching band can also be used towards fulfillment of the CWRU Physical Education Requirements.
